My favorite animal

In the world are a lot of interesting and amazing animals. You can find different species with spectaculars characteristics so, always is difficult to my when someone ask my which is my favorite. For example, I love dogs, whales and exotic animals like the big felines. I think that I like all the animals, but if I have to choose just one of them, I will choose dogs.

The scientific name of dog is Canis lupus familiaris. This specie has around of 300 different races. Is so incredible think about it because all of these types of dog come from the one ancestor: the wolf. For this reason they have the attention of people who study genetic.

I have lot of reasons to love these animals. Following I will explain why I like dogs.

Dogs are very intelligent animals. They can resolve problems like bring something if you ask for them. In internet you a can studies that confirm this attribute of dog. For example, a scientific investigates the ability of dog to recognize an object when you show them with your finger. They discover that dog really look the object and play attention of what are you saying.

They can know what you feel. In my life I have had too dogs. The first was Pelusa and now I have Clementine. I notice that both have a similar comportment in fixed situations. When I was crying, Pelusa always come to me and look to my eyes like saying “don´t cry everything is going to be good” and then she use to put her head in my hands. Clementine makes the same thing and even she knows when you are angry for something that she made.

I like to help dogs just because they deserve this. They are faithful to us and give a lot of love. We have to fight for their rights and have that government legislate about it. Dogs don´t have voice, we have to be their voice. If you don´t like animals, try to think that they are alive like you. Dogs have pain and illness like any human be so we have to make something about it.

I hope be a good vet to help my favorite animals and give them a better quality of life.

WHAT TO DO/ WHERE TO GO IN SANTIAGO

Santiago is a beautiful place to travel across. You can find great places to take someone who want to know our city. In the next lines I will recommend you where you have to go if you are in Santiago.

First I think that a good place that you should go is “Plaza de Armas”. This is a historic place and here are a lot of museums. Also you can see old buildings that date of the colony times. For example, the cathedral or post office.

Other place to go is the Santa Lucia´s hill. Here you will see a kind of castle with a nice park to have a rest. The only problem is that you have to be careful because here are a lot of delinquents.

Another place that you should go is Moneda´s Palace because this is other historic place. Maybe if you have lucky you can see the president of the republic.

If you want to drink something or have a good time with your friends you have to go to “Bella vista”. Here you will find a lot of pubs and places to, like we say in Chile, “carretiar” for a moment. Even you can meet someone and have a nice conversation with this person.

To finish a place that in my opinion is very nice and represent the Chilean people is “Paseo Ahumada”. I love this place because always you can see mimes, actors or musicians that I shore will make you a very good time.

Death Penalty

Well, this is a difficult topic to me, because I have two different opinions about it. In my view it has positives and negative things. To my mind death penalty is bad cause we don´t have the power to decide if someone have to die or have to live. Too years ago, someone said: “if you don´t have any sin, throw the first stone”. All of as deserve a second chance to change and to by sorry about our actions. Also we have to think that these people have a family and independently of their acts, their children and wife will be alone. On the other hand, to be honest, death penalty has a good thing. People commit crimes because they know that they will be free soon and in the prison they will be better than now. In this place the prisoners have free food and a bed to sleep. All these things are paid with the tax of honest people. I think that if death penalty would be valid, maybe criminal will not make bad things because they would be afraid. It can sound cruel but this is the only way to people can understand that they don´t have to make things like kill someone else. To finish, from my point of view the solution to stop with all this violence is the education and prevention. Maybe we have to try to do things for children in social risk because they could be the criminals of the future.

A COUNTRY I WOULD LIKE TO VISIT

I like to go to Tailandia someday. This is a very beautiful country with amazing landscapes. The people of this place have a millennial culture. Also, you can find a high diversity of flora and fauna. Here you can see the most spectaculars beaches in the world: with white and soft sand, tropical climate and near of these great places you can see jungles with palm trees. Even Hollywood arrived to this paradise: they film the movie “the beach” with Leonardo Dicaprio like the man character. Tailandia is a country of Asia. They have two principal religions: Buddhism and Islam. I saw in the TV that in this country exists a “floating market”. To buy something here, you have to go to the river in a boat. The traders sail in canoes and offer their products. I would like to study something related animals of this place, but I wouldn´t like to live forever in this country. Every time that I see in the TV the beauty of this place, I close my eyes and I try to see me in this paradise. I hope that someday I can go to Tailandia and admire all of these things by my own eyes.

The last year

The second term of 2009 was so difficult to me. All people used to say to me that the third year was complicated but I never thought that it will be true. I really was so tired and all that I wanted was the year finished soon. The good think about third year is that you are nearly to be a vet. You have subjects that are more related with medicine and animals. You learn a lot of interesting thinks about how you can tackle the pathologies of our patients. Also I take a subject that was name was “Gym dance”. My friends and I had to create a choreography. It was very funny but I`m a little shy so it was so embarrassing to me. Other good thing of the second term was that I meet new people that today are excellent friends. The subject that was more difficult to me was physiopathology. You have to memorize a million of different things and you don`t have the necessary time to do this. The only thing that I really enjoyed of physiopathology was a clinic case that my group and I had to make. To this work we had a dog called Piri. He was adorable. The problem was that he had a seriously type of cancer and he died. With all the things that I made in the second term of 2009 I discovered that I really love my profession and I want to be the best veterinary.

TRANSANTIAGO: BEFORE AND AFTER

Four years ago, people used to mobilize in a system very different of buses. The machines were yellow and had different numbering and routes. Today, we have a new one called “Transantiago”. To obtain this project the government had to buy new buses and promote the new system. They were helped for a famous football player called Iván Zamorano. I thing that the new system is better because the machines produce less pollution and have more space to people can use it. The only thing that is worse than the pre-transantiago system is the time that you have to wait to take a bus. One time, I stayed two hours watting for a bus and then I was so bored, so I decided to walk to my home. I think that Transantiago system could be better if they improve the timetable of buses and cleaning these machines more often.
